Céline Sciamma

 

Céline Sciamma was born in France in 1980 and studied screenplay writing at Fémis. The subject of her final dissertation was transformed in 2006 into her first feature film Water Lilies (Turin GLBT 2008). Critics gave the film very positive reviews and selected it for screening in the section Un Certain Regard at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. The film also won the Louis-Delluc award as best first film and three nominations for the 2008 César Awards. With the short film Pauline (2010) she took part in the Turin 2010 GLBT, in the Homophobia Focus section.
