Avi Nesher

Avi Nesher was born in Israel, but spent much of his adolescence in New York. His very first movie, The Troupe (1978), was a controversial movie on Israeli military. A year later Nesher wrote and directed Dizengoff 99 and, three years later, Rage and Glory, which tells the story of a Jewish terror organization during the 1940’s. He also worked in Hollywood as a writer and director, with different productions. In 2004 directed Turn Left at the End of the World, Israel’s greatest box office success in the last twenty years.
