Hessed Mufla (Amazing Grace)

Feature Film Israel 1992

The posthumous testament of Amos Guttman, who died of AIDS the year after the movie was shot. The film is about the excruciating love story between Jonathan, a romantic teenager who lives in Tel Aviv and Thomas, a 30-year-old HIV-positive man who is generally melancholy and taciturn and who is back in Israel after a stay in New York. One of the first film stories to speak frankly about the terrible virus. In 1993, only a few months after his death, he won the prize for best feature film at TGLFF, just when Philadelphia was being released in the USA.
